P. Hanmanth Rao

Dr. P. Hanmanth Rao obtained M.Sc in Statistics in 1969 and Ph.D. in genetics in 1984 from Osmania University. He taught Biomathematics, Biostatistics, Population Genetics and Quantitative Genetics at undergraduate and postgraduate level for over three decades at the University College of Science at Osmania University. Dr. Rao was the Principal of Nizam College, a prestigious institute in the country during the years 1997-1999. He was Head of the Department of Genetics during 2001-03 and Chairman Board of Studies, Department of Genetics, Osmania University, during 2003-04. He was superannuated in March 2004. Dr. Rao is presently working as an Academic Advisor at Sujatha Degree and P.G. College Chapel Road. He was also invited for guest lectures by different colleges. Dr. Rao was instrumental in designing Biostatistics syllabus for UG and PG courses. He is also a consultant in the area of Biostatistics. His research interests are Population and Human Genetics. He has published 25 research papers in national and international journals. He is a life member of the Indian Society of Human Genetics and International Society of Biometrics.
