Bioremediation of Pollutants

The dramatic worldwide increase in the rate of human population has created severe environmental problems. Soil and ground water reservoirs have been polluted with pesticides, xenobiotics, agrochemicals, etc. The global consensus to eradicate inputs of toxic pollutants, which are perceived at being hazardous by consumers, have provided opportunities for the development of novel and benign sustainable environmental management strategies through exploitation of microorganisms.
The future of next generation depends upon our ability to enhance resources without causing damage to environment. One of the strategies is the application of effective microorganisms which are beneficial to both ecosystem and farmers. The book contains seventeen chapters on various aspects of environmental microbiology and biotechnology. The chapters are devoted to abatement of pollutants generated by agriculturally contaminated soil, plastic waste from various industries.
The book also deals with rhizobacteria because they are rich in rhizospheric soil and acts as source of nitrogen, phosphorus, phytohormones, enzymes, etc. They have proved to be highly active even in soil polluted with chemicals.
This book will certainly help the readers who have interest in the field of environment, microbiology, industrial engineering, biotechnology, botany, agricultural sciences and business and economics.
