Ashwani Kumar

Ashwani Kumar completed his Ph.D. in 1971 under the mentorship of Professor H.C. Arya and pursued post-doctoral research with Professors K.H. He has an impressive publication record, with 220 research papers and 26 books, notably on plant cell and tissue culture and ferns. He has served on editorial boards and guided 39 Ph.D. students. An elected Fellow of several scientific societies, Kumar has also worked as a consultant for World Bank projects and served as President of the Indian Botanical Society. His exemplary work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the V. Puri Medal and the Teacher’s Excellence Award from CEE in 2015. He has held significant leadership roles in scientific societies and journals, further solidifying his impact in the field of botany."
