Nafees A. Khan

NAFEES A. KHAN is Professor of Plant Physiology at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Prof. Khan obtained his Graduation, Masters, Ph.D. and D.Sc. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. The research focus of Prof. Khan is mainly on understanding the mechanisms of hormonal and nutritional regulation of plant growth with special emphasis on abiotic stress vis-a-vis photosynthetic efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance. He has published significant number of research papers, book chapters and review articles in journals of national and international repute. In addition, Prof. Khan also has to his credit a list of edited and authored books published by reputed publishers. Prof. Khan is actively engaged in supervising theses for Ph.D. and M.Phil. Besides, acting as a regular reviewer of research manuscripts, he is on the panel of editorial boards of journals of national and international repute. Prof. Khan’s research contribution has been recognized nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of important scientific societies including Indian Botanical Society and Indian Society for Plant Physiology, New Delhi, India. Prof. Khan has also been honored with several awards including Scientist of the Year Award (2005) and Eminent Scientist of the Year Award (2006), and the Research Award (2002) by the University Grants Commission, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
