Yuan-Yeu Yau

Yuan-Yeu Yau, also known as Frank Yau, earned his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He pursued postdoctoral research and worked as a specialist at the University of California-Berkeley and the USDA-ARS Plant Gene Expression Center in Albany, California. Dr. Yau's work spans plant biotechnology, breeding, biochemistry, and physiology, with projects funded by esteemed organizations like the NSF, NIH, USDA, and Cotton Incorporated. Dr. Yau has made significant contributions to various fields, including carrot breeding, cottonseed gossypol removal, and the development of clean-gene technology and molecular farming for stroke drugs. He played a pivotal role in advancing precision transgene integration and gene stacking techniques in plants using site-specific recombination systems. Dr. Yau has published extensively in top journals such as Plant Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics and Genomics. He serves as a reviewer and editor for several scientific journals and books. In 2010, he joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences as a professor, and in 2012, he became a research scientist and professor at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. In addition to his academic and research achievements, Dr. Yau is active on ResearchGate, where he mentors researchers and students.
